Wedding reception
I’m having a wedding reception and offering free beer and one free mixed drink or shot. After the one drink I’m going to charge $2-3 a drink. I wouldn’t ask people to go in their pockets but all my family is drinkers and I can’t afford them. Anyway I’m trying to think of drinks that don’t require too many different ingredients. Just basics like vodka, gin, or some brandy’s. I don’t know. Anyone have any suggestions?

Hawaiian punch. Everyone likes it and it’s cheap.

Easy. Serve punch. That way, nobody will die from drunk driving. It’s safe, and actually tastes pretty good.

Forget a semi-opened bar…if this is a home reception or a rented room where you provide the food and drink…..

Beer and wine is fine ……water, icetea or seltzers. I have an Irish drinking family, but it is about you and your husband to be….It is great if you are providing enough Champaign for a toast!

Beer and cash bar.

If you are having your wedding at a venue or reception hall you wont get much choice….they will just have the regular stuff there that you mentioned and make whatever people want. You either choose cash bar where they pay or open bar where you pay. A better way to go would be just beer and wine and have it all paid for. Or have beer and wine and a theme drink like if you are going to the beach for a honeymoon, have a beachy drink, etc. It could be passed around in the beginning and then it’s beer and wine after that. Remeber you want people to have fun, but you don’t want to be worried about anyone puking on your dress or getting in fights.

srew drivers (voda, orange juice) white russians (vodka, milk, kalua) vodka &cranberry, Rum & coke, jack & coke, gin & tonic, Vodka or gin martini!!! all these can be made with bottom shelf liquir and still taste great! straight shots are alil different cuz all you taste is the alcohol, with mixed drinks its easier to cover the taste of lower grade liquir

I dunno, theres a cool twist to a drink that i love and its so simple. All u do is mix peach schnapps into the orange juice and stick a lemon or whatever on the side of the glass.
add sugar around the rim if u want.

I like BMW’s- it’s just Bailey’s, Malibu and Whiskey- all three of which would be convenient to have at a bar at a wedding because they’re all easily mixed or good alone. Mix equal parts and serve on the rocks or shaken in a highball glass. It’s tasty :)
